Not stolen from Sonic! No lawsuit necessary!
- 2 lbs. Spanish onions, thick sliced and rings separated
- 24 oz. water
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 12 oz. melted vanilla ice cream
- Yes, you read that right: 12 oz. melted vanilla ice cream
- 8 oz. corn meal
- Vegetable oil
Dip onion rings in water, then flour; shake off any excess.
And Now for the Secret Ingredient!
Dip in the melted ice cream, then corn meal.
Place on cookie sheet to air dry for at least 20 minutes.
Fry until browned.
Sifting the flour and corn meal once in a while keeps lumps out and makes it easier to coat the rings.
