- Ingredients:
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. grated fresh ginger
- 2 tsp. vegetable oil
- 1⁄2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup whiskey
- 1⁄4 cup hoisin sauce
- 1⁄4 cup soy sauce
- 1⁄4 cup frozen pineapple juice concentrate
- 1⁄4 cup rice vinegar
In a medium saucepan, cook and stir garlic and ginger in hot oil over medium heat for 1 minute. Stir in brown sugar, whiskey, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, pineapple juice concentrate, and vinegar. Bring to boiling and reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 25–30 minutes or until mixture reduces to 1 cup, stirring occasionally.
Brush sauce on beef, pork or chicken as it grills
Makes about 1 cup.
