Slop & Slather BBQ Sauce

Bessie wait­ed too long to start ask­ing ques­tions.

  • Ingre­di­ents:
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 12 cup chopped onion
  • 14 cup packed brown sug­ar
  • 14 cup Worces­ter­shire sauce
  • 2 tbsp. vine­gar
  • 12 tsp. chili pow­der
  • 14 to 12 tsp. cayenne pep­per

In a medi­um saucepan over medi­um heat, com­bine ketchup, water, onion, brown sug­ar, worch­ester­shire sauce, vine­gar, chili pow­der, and cayenne pep­per. Bring to a boil­ing, reduce heat. Boil gen­tly, uncov­ered about 25 min­utes until mix­ture reduced to about 2 cups, stir­ring fre­quent­ly.

Brush over beef, pork or poul­try as it grills.
