Bacon and Onion Spud Packets

This is a fantastic way to serve delicious, hot dinners when you’re camping or grilling—you can also freeze them and pop them in the oven!

  • Ingredients
  • 2 or 3 square sheets of heavy-duty foil
  • 1 packet onion soup powder
  • 10–12 baby red potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 12 slices of cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced and diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp. butter
    • Optional: Sour cream and/or shredded cheddar cheese for serving
  • Tools
  • Heavy-duty aluminum foil

Spray each sheet of foil with nonstick cooking spray. Top each piece with equal portions of potatoes, bacon, 1 packet onion soup powder and mix. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to each serving. Wrap securely.

Grill over medium heat for 20 to 30 minutes, or bake at 350° for about 35 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Tear open each packet and empty onto a plate; add sour cream and/ or cheese if ya want. If you’re grilling or camping, tear the foil open on top and eat right out of the packet.
