- Ingredients:
- 10 oz. French bread, cut into 1 inch cubes (about 10 cups )
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 4 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3⁄4 tsp. salt
- Topping:
- 2 tbsp. butter, cubed
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- Maple syrup
Place bread cubes in greased 9×13 inch pan. In mixing bowl, beat milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. (at least 8 hours)
Remove from fridge 30 minutes prior to cooking. Dot with butter. Combine sugar, and cinnamon, sprinkle over top. Cover and bake at 350 ° or 40–45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes. Serve with syrup.
